About

I am from Assam, a beautiful region in Northeast India known for its rich biodiversity and vibrant cultural heritage. We are famous for the one-horned rhinoceros and Assam tea. I grew up witnessing devastating floods and learning to cope with nature’s power. It always inspired me to take action to protect this beautiful landscape from floodplains to rainforests. I love being in nature more than in chaotic cities or crowded places.

In my research, I use camera trapping, remote sensing, occupancy, and species distribution modeling, and more recently, passive acoustic monitoring to gain fresh insights into elusive mammal populations. My work has also supported innovative efforts such as identifying individual tigers by their vocal signatures, adding a new dimension to non-invasive field monitoring. Beyond research, I contribute to scientific publications, popular articles, and collaborative conservation initiatives.
